The Toronto skyline seen from across the water, but barely. The city dissolves into a haze of glittering light, thousands of tiny points of colour bleeding into magenta and gold where the buildings meet the sky, as if civilization itself is just a shimmer at the edge of the natural world. The CN Tower rises through the glow like a needle stitching the city to the clouds above it. From this distance, across this water, you have to ask how much of it is real and how much of it is just light we invented to feel less alone in the dark.
