Chapter II

Commissions

Every Chapter II commission is a one-off. The subject is worked out with you, the image is ground into the metal in the Niagara studio, and it is never repeated.

The hood series

Thirteen automotive hoods, numbered. Each is a genuine factory panel and a single original. Two are spoken for: a Lamborghini hood and a Bentley hood. Commit is available. Two are in progress: a Lamborghini hood and a McLaren hood. Eight remain.

A hood commission starts with the car. It can be a panel from your own, or one sourced for the piece. The subject is open. By the Horns is a bull. Commit is the view down an open road at speed. The bear on the Bentley was the collector's idea. The hood carries what the piece needs to say.

The image is ground directly into the panel, coloured, and sealed under automotive-grade clear coat. It hangs on a bonded rail, nothing visible from the front.

Panels

Large-format panels are commissioned the same way. Solid aluminum, sized to the wall, sealed under high-gloss resin. Surface, Observed at 72 by 36 inches is the reference for scale.

How it works

  1. A conversation

What the piece is for, where it hangs, what it has to say.

  2. The subject

A compositional reference is developed and agreed before any metal is touched.

  3. The studio

Grinding, colour, clear coat, cure. The timeline is agreed before work begins.

  4. Delivery

Hung in place across the Niagara and Toronto region. Crated for anywhere else.

Pricing

Panels are quoted by size.
Hood commissions start at $20,000 CAD.

One collector, three pieces

The collector who bought By the Horns came back for Hold Your Ground, then an 84" x 36" panel for his living room.

The next open hood is 06.
